Go for 30!
Everyday your child will receive a number between 0-4 in his or her agenda. That number is directly related to his or her behavior on that particular day. If your child has a good day, he or she will receive a 3. This means your child did everything expected of them throughout that day. To receive a 4 means that your child went beyond what is expected of them and walked the EXTRA mile to do something "spectacular."
To receive a 1 or 2 means that your child had some difficulty meeting the expectations as set forth both from the school and our classroom. To receive a 0 means your child made many bad choices today and I may document this in the school's 7 Step Discipline Plan that can lead to a detention. It is my hope that you will be able to sit down and discuss this with your child. My desire is that parents and children will be able to better dialog about these issues in hopes of encouragement from home to support the child or praise when such is warranted. ( If you desire more insight about the day, just drop me an email and I will briefly add my insights. )
Your child is instructed to show you his or her agenda daily and to get it signed. The purpose of this I hope is obvious- to keep you better and immediately informed and to provide your child the opportunity to show they are responsible. Showing you and getting you to sign the agenda is part of their homework and is required. I will treat the failure of this not happening like I would any other homework assignment. Again, please feel free to email me any concerns you may have regarding your child. I will do my best to respond quickly.
Thank you for your help,
Mr. C.
PS Oh, i almost forgot to mention this - Mrs. C. will bake brownies to be given to all those students who attain 30 or higher in a two week period. Trust me, her brownies are to die for.
